This old Spanish dance continues to attract fans all over the world

By the 19th century, flamenco was popular in cafes called cafes cantantes all over Spain. The lilting voice of the singer and graceful movements of the dancer entranced audiences. The guitar players were equally entertaining. They eventually developed their own solo art form.
在19世紀，佛拉曼科在整個西班牙各地的咖啡廳非常流行。歌手輕快活潑的調子和優美的舞姿使觀衆狂喜和着迷。吉他手同樣地有趣着迷。他們甚至演變到獨唱的藝術形式。At the beginning of the 20th century, flamenco started appearing in theaters and even in movies. The flamenco craze began to spread all over the world. Audiences were fascinated by the exotic style, which they had never seen before.
從20世紀開始，佛拉曼科在歌劇院和電影開始出現。佛拉曼科舞迅速風靡全世界。觀衆被這些從來沒有看過的異國情調歌曲與舞步弄到神魂顛倒，萬分陶醉。

Today, flamenco is more popular than ever. Flamenco lessons are offered everywhere. In Asia, dance studios in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan attract thousands of students.
今天，佛拉曼科舞比以前更流行。教佛拉曼科舞的學習班無處不在。在亞洲的新加坡、香港、臺灣等地的電視，錄像深深吸引着成千過萬的學生來學習佛拉曼科舞。
Vivian Yang, who lives in Taipei, learned flamenco for about a year. She said, “through flamenco, Asian women who are normally very reserved can learn to express themselves.”
住在臺北的揚維微學習佛拉曼科舞已有一年時間，她說；“亞洲的婦女通常比較保守，通過跳佛拉曼科舞他們能學會怎樣表達自己”。
More than 400 years have passed since the birth of flamenco. But the passion of the dance continues to burn brightly all over the world today.
