英語中使用的標點符號主要有下面這些：
問號：Question Mark，“?”
感嘆號：Exclamation Mark，“!”
逗號：Comma，“,”
冒號：Colon，“:”
省略號：Ellipsis (衆數：Ellipses)，“...”
分號：Semicolon，“;”
連字符：Hyphen，“-”連接號：En Dash，“–”
破折號：Em Dash，“—”
括號：Parentheses，小括號（圓括號）“( )”（parenthesis; round brackets）；中括號“[ ]”（a square bracket）；大括號“{ }”（curly brackets; braces）
引號：Quotation Marks，雙引號“"”（quote）；單引號“'”（single quotation marks）
縮寫及所有格符號：Apostrophe，“'”

此外，在非正式的語體中，撇號也用來表示縮寫的年份，因此，1984年可寫成 ’84。
