策略一：恐嚇、欺凌和撒謊！一些特殊教育人員極力恐嚇，不讓家長為孩子爭搶服務！恐嚇可能是大聲的聲音、威脅、對父母的屈尊俯就，或者讓父母感到不足或不舒服！
策略2：以上所有；但他們的臉上帶著微笑！當一個特殊教育的人張開嘴說一些不真實的事情時，當他們微笑時，我絕對會感動！我不知道他們是否認為父母不會因為他們的面部表情而意識到謊言
策略3：引用不存在的法律，讓他們看起來比他們更有權力！作為教育倡導者和家長，我自己已經多次看到這一點。示例：瓊斯夫人，法律允許我們在錢用完時不得為兒童提供服務（不正確）！或者瓊斯夫人，法律規定我們可以根據您的孩子的行為暫停您的孩子，只要我們願意（不正確）！
策略四：聽很多家長說，他們的特教人員居然改了教育記錄，好和家長爭吵！我所看到的是添加到孩子檔案中的記錄（父母不知道）以記錄發生的事情。這就是為什麼父母獲取孩子的整個教育記錄的副本（尤其是在發生爭執期間）並保留以備將來參考的原因，這一點至關重要。如果您最終與學區進行了正當程序，請檢查他們正在使用的所有記錄，以確保它們與您擁有的記錄相匹配！
策略 5：拒絕識別和接受兒童有資格獲得特殊教育服務的殘疾。許多父母必須獲得獨立評估（自費），以證明他們的孩子確實有殘疾，並且有資格獲得特殊教育服務！
技巧六：曲解測試數據，證明孩子不需要特殊教育服務！我聽很多特殊教育人員說他們不相信考試成績低，孩子因為考試成績低不需要服務。這是不真實的；每當標準化測試顯示該兒童低於其年齡和某個地區的相應同齡人時，該兒童應接受特殊教育服務，以便他們能夠在教育方面取得進步。
策略 7：使用延遲或拒絕策略。許多特殊教育人員試圖拖延家長對特殊教育及相關服務的要求。他們可能會忽略父母要求進行資格測試的請求，或者只是使用任何可用的策略來延遲請求！當延遲不再起作用時，許多人員只是說不；這當然是否認！通過以書面形式記錄所有請求來應對這些策略！
策略8（這恰好是我最喜歡的）：誇大或編造紀律問題，以便他們可以改變孩子的標籤或位置！一些學區希望給孩子貼上情緒障礙或行為障礙的標籤，以便他們可以將他們安置在其他位置，並拒絕提供所需的特殊教育服務。
父母需要關注孩子的學業和教育需求，而不是讓學區只關注行為。如果一個孩子在學業上掙扎，這可能會表現在他們的行為中！
