寫作中常用轉折詞(transitional phrase),好長語句,上下段落間承接更自然,文章的脈絡也能更清晰.
轉折詞有許多種類,如表時間順序,作說明,表強調,表目的,作比較等.其用法主要有一下兩種:

提案已經覈准,雖然有些細節問題仍須修改. [word] proposal n.提議,建議,求婚
The proposal was approved in principal,though details need revision.
置於句子或段落開頭
能花幾天出過旅遊一定很有樂趣,不過想想,我真的沒有時間.
It would be fun to spend several days traveling abroad.But ,on the other hand, I really don't have the time.
[換句話說]to rephrase it ,
[換個方式說] to put it differently/another way ,
[換句話說] in other words .
[也就是說]that is to say,
[具體的說]specifically
[表時序的詞彙]previously 先前;在...之前 formerly 以前;從前 before 以前 beforehand/earlier預先;事先;早先的時候
表[之前]詞彙中previously和formerly 須搭配過去式或過去完成式使用,beforehand,earlier 則無時態限制.請見下句
Formerly he worked in a factory as an operator, but now he is a technician.
你可以在研討會上文首席執行官問題,不過你得先寫下來.
You can ask the CEO a question at the seminar ,but you have had to write it down beforehand /earlier.
表[同時]at the same time和另一個副詞in the meantime 都表[同時],但兩者之含意,用法稍有不同,請見以下比較:
既然你和他都是同個時間開車來公司,你們就共乘一部吧.
Since you and he drive to the office at the same time ,why don't you carpool?
你上週五申請的新賬號到星期四之前都不會下來.這段時間你可以用我的賬號.
The new account number you requested last Friday will not be processed until Thursday, In the meantime, you can use my account number.
表[強調,突顯語意]
I would like to stress/emphasize ... 我想強調....
I would like to emphasize the need to approve this proposal.
我想強調批准這份提案的必要性.
I can not stress /emphasize enough... 我不得不強調....
we urge to do .. 我們很希望您...
我們很希望您對此合約能在考慮一下.
We urge you to reconsider the contract.
...bears repeating . ...值得再次說明/強調
The story of our troubles with the case is long, but it bears repeating.
這個案子我們遇到的麻煩說來話長,但值得再次說明.
